Product is wrong sizeMar 18, 2007
By D. M. Cook
"sommelier"
I was hoping that the previous customer who noted a ball that was much too small had somehow just been shipped the wrong product by mistake; since everyone seemed to like the product, I gave it a try.
Unfortunately, I, too, got bitten by the "too-small ball." I ordered the 75cm product, the color is right, and the box says 75 cm, but the ball is closer to 55cm in diameter from a quick measurement. I'm 6'2" -- I feel like I'm in the Stonehenge scene from This is Spinal Tap.
Perhaps Amazon just got a shipment of these that were incorrectly labeled?

I'm 6'5" and this ball is too BIG for me!Nov 03, 2007
By G. Wells I'm using this ball as a desk chair.
I'm 35, 220lbs, and 6'5" (~190cm).
When fully inflated, this ball is as tall as my desk -- 29" (the desk is standard Bush Somerset). It felt like I was sitting on a stool -- I was high up, had to tilt my monitor up, and had no place to rest my wrists or elbows while typing/mousing.
2 days later, the ball has slightly deflated (stretched, actually, which is natural) and I'm now at normal sitting height. It's comfortable -- the ball is smooshed down like a particularly juicy hamburger -- but because it is flatter now, i fear i'm not getting all the benefits of sitting on the ball (the balancing your back muscles are constantly doing).
I'm also using the Ironman ball stand, just to keep the ball in place. (It may be raising my height by an inch, mostly it's just for stability and saving me the trouble of chasing the ball around the office... it makes mounting and dismounting the ball a little tricky tho too).
To sum up: this 75cm is fine for tall people (6' and up), and the fact that it stretches/deflates gives you a little flexibility regarding your height and comfort zone. And it's healthier AND cheaper than a chair!
And if you decide you don't like it, your kid will have a ball with it.
EDIT: Two months later...
My three-year-old prodded the ball (sorta hard, I guess!) with a pen -- while I was sitting on it. Disaster, right!?
No! It made a pen sized-hole and air leaked out, slowly and in a controlled manner. No bursting, no exploding, no danger at all to either my daughter or to me.
So, I'm reordering another Iron Man, after seeing how safe they are, but this time, I'm getting the 65cm version, which i expect to be more chair-height and less stool-height. (My wife has the 55cm version: that one's definitely too small for extended use for me (still 6'5").

Much smaller than size adverised!Dec 30, 2006

I ordered the large (75cm) Delux Stability Ball to do exercises recommended by my physical therapist after back surgery. I am 6 ft tall, and need the large size. The ball itself seems to be of reasonable quality, but it was less than 65cm in size, smaller even than the medium size ball at my therapist's office. I could not use it. I have not returned it only because there was another patient that needed the smaller size and I sold it to them.

Good value but make sure you've got a bike pump...Jul 03, 2007
By Beauregard Lots of good things about this item - solid construction, nice neutral color, not much of a rubbery stink. But it's true what someone said in an earlier review that the pump that comes with the ball is useless. I gave it maybe 500 or 600 pumps and it was still less than half inflated. So make sure you've got a bike pump fitted for a Shrader valve, i.e. the old fashioned kind of bike tire valve. Even better take it to a gas station and fill it up there.
Also, I'm 6'2" and I feel the ball is a bit too small to function as a seat, at least with a normally sized desk.
Way Smaller than 75cmApr 14, 2009
By D. Kennard I should have listened to the other amazon reviews that said this ball was smaller than 75cm. Like one reviewer said, this ball is closer to 55cm. It's way too small to sit on and use as an office "ball" chair.
