No traction, it's a slippy-slidey mess!May 30, 2009

I just used this mat for the first time today at my yoga class. It has no traction at all, and pieces of the mat started coming off on my hands. It was miserable doing any of my yoga poses because both my hands and feet kept slipping. My advice - get a normal, standard yoga mat. The patterns/ripples on this one don't help with any traction. I know the pink and orange is super cute, but don't fall for it! Also, it's short. A 74 inch mat would be better, either my head or my feet were dangling off this.

Nice and thick and doesn't smell awfulSep 10, 2008
By Laura Landy I reviewed many types of yoga mats before buying this one. I love it. It's ecologically low-impact, doesn't have that "new plastic" smell, and is thicker and longer than most. I like that it's got different colors on each side so that I can make one side permanently the "down" side and one the "up" side. If you're in the market for a "sticky" mat, try this one.

Perfect Yoga, Pilates MatMay 02, 2009
By Orchidalis I looked around at many eco yoga mats and after testing out numerous expensive types, I settled on this one. It is perfect for both yoga and pilates, it has a longer base, so it never feels constricting in size, and it has a thick feel, so you can do back rolls or sit ups with no pain, even on stone flooring. I haven't decided which side I prefer the most, the darker blue is rougher but grippier, and the lighter purple is very soft to the touch so it feels nicer...I vary them by workout. It has no smell, such a pleasant change from most mats, and it is green, so you can follow your practice knowing you are doing good for yourself and the environment.

Wonderful Eco Friendly Yoga MatDec 15, 2008
By Orchidalis I upgraded my old yoga mat, got this one in blue and have been using it for a few weeks now, and am really impressed with this mat. Its not very thick but provides ample support for sit ups and back rolls, which take quite a stress on your back and require more cushioning. It doesn't move around on the floor and provides sticky support during yoga, or any sports one might want to do. Mostly, I love its textural feel, each side has its own feel, with the darker side providing a more grippy harder touch, and the lighter side is softer, with wavy ribbing. The mat is much longer than most, so I never find my head hanging off the end. In conclusion, I love this mat! Its eco friendly and feels amazing to the touch, I think its the best mat on amazon.
